Beijing — July 14, 2025 — Zeekr, the high-performance EV brand under China’s Geely Auto Group, is making headlines with plans to develop an all-electric hypercar boasting more than 2,000 horsepower, potentially rivaling elite names like Rimac, Lotus, and Bugatti in the world of ultra-performance electric vehicles.

Project Details: Codenamed “Zeekr001H”

Sources close to Zeekr’s R&D division have confirmed that the car, currently codenamed Zeekr001H, is undergoing advanced development at the company’s Hangzhou R&D center. Leveraging Geely’s SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) and cutting-edge battery and motor technology from its subsidiaries like Viridi E-Mobility and Farizon Labs, the vehicle is designed to redefine electric speed benchmarks.

Initial performance projections estimate:

  • 0 to 100 km/h in under 1.9 seconds
  • Top speed exceeding 420 km/h (260 mph)
  • Range up to 650 km (404 miles) on a single charge

Lightweight, Aerodynamic Design

The upcoming hypercar will utilize a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and an active aerodynamic body design, placing it in direct competition with hyper-EVs like the Rimac Nevera, Pininfarina Battista, and Lotus Evija. A signature butterfly door setup and limited production run — reportedly just 99 units worldwide — aim to elevate exclusivity and collector interest.

Global Ambitions, Local Power

Zeekr has made it clear that this hypercar is more than a domestic showcase. The company plans to debut the model globally in early 2026, with a prototype expected to be revealed at the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show. The hypercar project aligns with China’s growing push to position itself as a leader in ultra-luxury EV engineering, moving beyond volume markets into halo products.

Zeekr’s Brand Evolution

Since launching in 2021, Zeekr has grown rapidly with models like the Zeekr 001, 007, and X gaining traction in China and parts of Europe. The upcoming hypercar represents its boldest statement yet — merging engineering prowess, luxury branding, and EV innovation into one flagship.
